Arbeitsgruppe Existenzielle Belastung bei schwerer Erkrankung

    Die Arbeitsgruppe untersucht psychische Belastungen, die bei einer lebensbedrohlichen Erkrankung auftreten können. Wir erforschen, wie Betroffene und Angehörige mit einer unsicheren Zukunft, der Veränderung sozialer Rollen und der Angst vor dem Sterben umgehen, und wie Belastungen aufgrund solcher existenziellen Verluste und Veränderungen gemindert werden können.

    Ein Schwerpunkt der im Rahmen des Max-Eder-Nachwuchsgruppenprogramms der Deutschen Krebshilfe geförderten Arbeitsgruppe liegt auf der Erforschung von Demoralisierung, Trauer, und Todeswünschen bei einer fortgeschrittenen Krebserkrankung. Weiterhin untersuchen wir die psychologische Adaptation an eine verkürzte Lebenserwartung und wie diese durch psychotherapeutische Interventionen unterstützt werden kann. Ein weiteres Ziel liegt in der Konzeption existenzieller Belastungsbilder und ihrer Rolle im klinischen Gespräch am Lebensende.
