Post-doctoral Position in Translational Cancer Research:

We are looking for an enthusiastic post-doctoral student to join our team at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Institute of Tumor Biology, located in Hamburg Germany. The research position is part of a scientific collaborative project titled “ Identification of preventive strategies against brain metastases”within the Deutsche Krebshilfe Priority Program „Translational Oncology“. The initial contract is for three years. The working group headed by Prof. Harriet Wikman and Prof. Klaus Pantel combines state-of-the art liquid biopsy analysis tools with cutting-edge genomics technologies to investigate cancer metastasis. Highly motivated individuals with strong interests in the areas of metastasis research, cancer genomics and translational cancer research are invited to apply. The institute is a leading center in translational metastasis research with additional funding from the DFG, European Research Council and European Commission.

Applicants should have a PhD or in Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology or related field) with research experience in cancer research. Previous work experience with mouse handling is also required. Experience in translational research is also valued but not obligatory. Candidate should be a team player and willing to work in a highly collaborative and interactive research environment. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of first-author publications in excellent peer-reviewed journals. The salary will be according to the German 13 or 14 TV-KAH. The fixed term full time positon is available immediately.
