UKE Core Facilities

Objective Target

Central research facilities at the UKE, so-called "core facilities", offer all members of the medical faculty (and external users by special request) access to complex technology and equipment as a service. Therefore, expensive large equipment as key technologies and state-of-the-art methods are available for all researchers - resources are concentrated and effectively used.

Core facilities are run by experienced researchers and technical staff as a fee-for-service. On a regular basis, core facilities offer workshops and seminars regarding their special techniques and equipment. Moreover, researchers, PhD-, and other students are introduced into the correct handling of the devices and they can learn key techniques.

As techniques, equipment, and scientific requirements are constantly developing, core facilities sonstantly adapt to the needs of the researchers.
