Research Building

The key aspects of our research are barrier function of the skin, wound healing, tumor biology, molecular andrology, and the development of new test systems for skin, mucosa and eye. Within these topics, we are interested in inflammatory skin diseases, e.g. atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, acute and chronic wounds, various cutaneous and andrological tumors, e.g. malignant melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma and testis tumors, as well as male infertility. Translation from bench to bedside is an important driving force of our research. Thus, a major aim of our work is the application of knowledge gained by basic research for the benefit of our patients. Detailed information concerning the various research topics can be found in the descriptions of the various working groups .
