Roadmap to the Museum

Location

You will find the museum at the side entrance (Frickestraße) and via the main entrance to the UKE. Please note that there may be restrictions due to construction work.

Visitors can use the UKE guide to find the best way to reach the UKE by bus, train, car or bicycle.

PLEASE NOTE: The museum does not have a car or bus park. Parking facilities on the UKE grounds can be found here.

Opening Hours

Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Public guided tour: last Sunday of the month, 3 p.m. (no registration required)

Groups of 15 or more (without a guided tour) are requested to register in advance at medizinhistorisches-museum@uke.de .

Closed from 24 to 26 December, 31 December, 1 January and 1 May.

Tours are also available outside museum opening hours:Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., bookable through the Museumsdienst Hamburg .

Free admission:

  • Children and young people under 16 years of age
  • UKE employeesUKE patients
  • Disabled persons (including accompanying persons)
  • Members of the German Museum Association and the International Council of Museums (ICOM)
  • Anyone who cannot afford the admission price.

A free accompanying booklet in simple language is available for individual exhibition areas. Barrier-free access is available for wheelchair users.

Photography & Age Restrictions

Photography is permitted in the museum rooms for private purposes (without flash). Special permits for commercial purposes can be requested.

Due to the particular impact of some exhibits, we recommend that young people under the age of 16 visit the exhibition accompanied by an adult.
