The primary focus of Working Group IV is health economics. The group conducts health economic evaluations and examines the cost-effectiveness of various interventions. This research is primarily based on data from randomised controlled trials (RCTs).

Another research area includes the influence of mental health conditions on occupational life. Particular emphasis is placed on productivity losses and the associated costs, drawing upon prospective cohort studies.
