Research Interests
Julia Neumanns junior research group analyzes the pathogenesis of pediatric brain tumors and aims to find new targets for personalized therapies. Using preclinical model systems and human brain tumor tissue, as well as -omics technologies, we try to understand molecular alterations driving malignant brain tumor emergence and progression. The group focuses on embryonal brain tumors (embryonal brain tumors with multilayered rosettes (ETMRs), Medulloblastoma, atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RT)) and Gliomas (ependymoma, glioblastoma). One focus is to unravel the function of the stem- and progenitor cell marker Lin28A that is highly expressed in ETMRs, but also in other brain tumor entities.
