Project group study data I

  • Description
  • Description

The research group Study Data I mainly conducts health economic evaluations accompanying randomized controlled trials aiming to improve care of various populations and patient groups. Thereby, the aim is to determine the cost-effectiveness of an intervention, i.e. the difference in effects between the intervention and control group in relation to the difference in costs. The results find consideration in the decision-making process regarding a possible implementation of the intervention and are therefore of particular interest to healthcare payers, such as health insurances. The research group also conducts cost studies on various diseases in order to quantify the economic burden attributable to these diseases. In the context of health economic evaluations and costs studies, data are analyzed using regression analytical models as well as modeling and matching methods. Cost-effectiveness is usually presented in terms of the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio and cost-effectiveness acceptability curves. Closely related to health economic evaluation is the determination of intervention effects. Therefore, questionnaires for the measurement of health-related quality of life and well-being are translated and validated as well as preference-based value sets are determined in the research group. Thereby, the goal is to make those questionnaires available for health economic evaluations in the German-speaking area.
