Welcome to the Institute and Outpatients Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy
Dear potential clients,
I would like to sincerely thank you for your interest in our Institute and Outpatients Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy.
Psychosomatic and mental distress are common. Approximately 40% of adults suffer from a mental disorder during their lifetime. Fortunately, it is not as difficult as it once was to get effective help.
In general, the earlier treatment begins, the better the chances of a complete recovery. Our institute offers both general and specialised psychosomatic consultations to give you an assessment of your symptoms and a specific treatment recommendation as quickly as possible.
In this context, you are able to describe your symptoms and your doctor or psychologist will ask targeted questions and provide a diagnostic evaluation and recommendation for further treatment.
For colleagues who are practicing doctors and psychotherapists, we offer the possibility of obtaining a second opinion. Fundamentally, we always consider both physical and mental factors at the same time during diagnosis and treatment.
We specialize in depressive and anxiety disorders in the context of physical illness or personal crises, somatoform and functional disorders, eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder, chronic pain as well as psychological reactions after serious life changes or stressful situations.
Our Institute and Outpatients Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy has a scientific network including national and international working groups and focuses on clinically relevant aspects of mental and psychosomatic disorders.
Our treatment is based on scientific evidence, the treatment guidelines of professional societies, and our many years of experience. In collaboration with my staff, I am your first contact if you seek help for your psychological and psychosomatic complaints and am here to assist you with an assessment and facilitate your treatment.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
With kind regards,
Prof. Bernd Löwe, MD, Dipl.-Psych.
