The European Liquid Biopsy Society (ELBS) recently supported the 1st Regional congress of the Serbian, Croatian and Turkish Associations for Cancer Research SDIR-HDIR-MOKAD (SHM1RC) held on Oct 8-10, 2025, in Belgrade, Serbia.

We contributed to the congress’s success by sponsoring the ELBS Best Abstract Award and promoting research excellence. The event brought together over 300 participants from 12 countries, highlighting the society’s commitment to advancing liquid biopsy research across Europe. We look forward to further supporting excellent research and boosting international scientific connections.

The well-deserved winner of the ELBS Best Abstract Award is Dr. Bojana Cikota-Aleksic from Serbia for her project titled "The Association of Baseline Concentrations of Circulating Tumor DNA with the Clinical Course of Advanced Melanoma." The awarded research is part of the ReDiMEL project, funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, under the supervision of Prof. Lidija Kandolf.
