Prof. Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat. Barbara M. Braunger

In our teaching, we convey in-depth knowledge in the fields of neuroanatomy, the musculoskeletal system, head anatomy and embryology with commitment and enthusiasm. Our goal is to give students a deep understanding of the structure and function of the human body and to inspire them with a passion for anatomy. In our research, we focus on the retina and investigate cell type-specific processes during retinal development, as well as in diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy and photoreceptor degeneration (retinitis pigmentosa).
