In our general oncology consultation sessions, we provide care for patients with diseases of the blood and blood forming organs (Hematology), as well as patients with solid tumors, in which medical tumor therapy is required (medical oncology).

We offer extensive diagnostics including bone marrow aspiration, molecular diagnostics as well as the entire spectrum of modern tumor therapy (chemotherapy, targeted therapy with antibodies or tyrosine kinase inhibitors, immunotherapy, transfusion of blood products etc.).

There is a close, interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments such as radiation therapy and the surgical disciplines. In all treatment stages (introduction, modification or adjustment of therapy, aftercare etc.), the cases are discussed in interdisciplinary tumor conferences and treatment concepts individually tailored for each patient.

As a university outpatient clinic, we see it as our special duty to conduct clinical trials, in which our patients are treated with novel medications that may not yet be available on the market.

An additional emphasis is on rare diseases in medical oncology and hematology, in which the expertise of specialized and/or multidisciplinary teams is required.
