Consultation Session for Phase - I Clinical Trials Patients

Head: Prof. Dr. med. Walter Fiedler

Which patients do we see?

  • Patients with solid tumors or leukemias whose cancer has progressed despite standard treatment can visit our consultation session for medical advice.
  • Because of our close cooperation with researchers in the pharmaceutical industry, very new and innovative drugs in a very early clinical trial phase may be used in some individual cases. To ensure patient safety, certain requirements regarding their general health condition and organ function have to be fulfilled.
  • The medication is usually given within the framework of clinical trials. Therefore, additional tests such as ECGs and blood samples are often required.
  • Depending on the type of medication given, treatment can be administered in our outpatient clinic or hospital ward for a few days.
  • Therefore, we are closely linked with the Phase I Unit on the C5A Ward.
