He is a professor of addiction research and clinical epidemiology at the Institute of General Medicine, Centre for Health and Society (chs), Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital Düsseldorf at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, as well as an honorary professor at University College London, Department of Behavioural Science and Health. His research focuses on tobacco use, related nicotine delivery systems, and cannabis use in the population, as well as the efficacy and safety of behavioural and pharmacological therapies for nicotine cessation.
Within the EKOCAN project, he is the project manager at chs.
