EKOCAN Project Launch

On 1st January 2025, the EKOCAN project was launched to evaluate the German Consumer Cannabis Act ("Konsumcannabisgesetz", KCanG), in which three scientific institutions ( ZIS , chs , IfK ) are involved. This research network is currently in intensive dialogue with various data providers about the possibility of using existing data for the evaluation. This includes various surveys, but data from security authorities is also to be included. Parallel to this, own data collection is currently being planned.

According to § 43 KCanG, a first interim report is to be completed by 1st October 2025. The final report is scheduled for 1st April 2028.

Information about the publication of these interim reports will be provided on this study website. EKOCAN would also like to successively make central research results available to the interested public here. In addition to the collection of scientific publications , an interactive visualisation of various data is also planned.
