The Hamburg Network for Health Services Research (HAM-NET) came into being in 2015 through funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the funding for structural development in health services research ( Strukturaufbau Versorgungsforschung ).

The overall objective of HAM-NET is to promote and coordinate health services research and to link health services research and health services practice in Hamburg. In detail, the network has the following tasks:

  • Development and identification of strategically important and innovative topics of health services research and design in Hamburg.
  • Initiation and coordination of research initiatives
  • Promoting cooperation between actors in health services research and in health services practice
  • External presentation of health services research in Hamburg through public relations work
  • Organisation of joint eventsPromotion of young scientists in health services research
  • Improvement and use of methodological and clinical expertise for health services research in Hamburg.
