As a network of expertise, we connect centers, clinics, oncology practices, support groups, research institutions, and other partner institutions to provide our patients with the best possible oncological care.
Competence network
The Hubertus Wald Tumor Center – University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCC Hamburg) sees itself as a competence network consisting of an association of centers, clinics, oncology practices, self-help groups, research partners, and other partner institutions. Together, they aim to embody the concept of a comprehensive cancer center and offer modern oncological care throughout the Hamburg metropolitan region. This structure follows the German Cancer Aid's idea for a leading oncology center.

The goal of UCC Hamburg is not to limit its developments and objectives to members within the UKE. Instead, UCC Hamburg—together with external cooperation partners in patient care and tumor research—has established networks aimed at promoting cross-sector university-based clinical and preclinical research, as well as diagnostics and care at a high medical standard throughout the Hamburg metropolitan region. This also includes active participation in various research committees and networks.
Member of the UCC Hamburg Network
Members of our network can use various labels that identify their affiliation with UCC Hamburg. The labels are based on the UCC Hamburg logo and consist of both a wordmark and an image mark.
The image mark features the dual symbolism of two cancer ribbons, representing our shared network against cancer. It also visually echoes the symbols “&” and “∞”. The wordmark and image mark may only be used together as a combined unit. Are you a member of the network and would like to use the label?
