Outpatient specialist care, or ASV for short, is a service offered to patients with certain rare or very complex diseases with the aim of improving their care.
Outpatient specialist care (ASV) is a service for patients with certain rare or very complex diseases with the aim of improving their care. The service is covered by statutory health insurance.
In ASV, doctors from various disciplines work together in a team to improve medical care in a coordinated manner. All team members are specially qualified to treat the respective disease and have already treated many patients with this disease. The ASV team ensures that all necessary examinations and treatments that can be provided within the framework of ASV are available when needed. If necessary, non-medical professionals and social services can also be consulted.ASV is offered jointly by hospitals and registered specialists.
The scope of diagnostic and therapeutic services is the same regardless of the respective treatment location, i.e., you will be treated with the same expertise and according to the current standard of care at all locations. Complaints directly related to treatment in the ASV (side effects of therapy, complications, and acute adverse effects of treatment) are also treated in the ASV. Any medical care beyond this is provided outside the ASV in the usual structures.
