To support the careers of outstanding medical and PhD students, the CRC has established a structured graduate program focused on emerging viral diseases. This program covers key research areas such as epidemiology, clinical and translational infection research, molecular and structural virology, viral immunology, vaccine research, and virus-driven pathomechanisms. All PhD students involved in CRC projects participate in this curriculum.
In addition, eight MD students will be accepted each year through a dedicated stipend program to promote early training in emerging virus research and foster the development of future clinician scientists in infectious diseases.
The graduate school offers both advanced scientific training and transferable skills such as good scientific practice and science communication.
