Emerging viral infections pose complex scientific, societal, and political challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the urgent need for balanced, evidence-based science communication and transparent dialogue between researchers, policymakers, the media, and the public.
The Public Relations Project of CRC 1648 is dedicated to strengthening responsible science communication in the field of emerging viruses. Our goal is to communicate research findings clearly, accurately, and accessibly — particularly in situations of public health crises, where reliable information is essential for informed decision-making.
The project is jointly led by Prof. Dr. Marylyn M. Addo and Prof Dr. Ansgar W. Lohse, both highly experienced in science communication, public engagement, and policy dialogue.
