A central endeavour of the CRC 1700 is to provide a well-structured graduate programme (iRTG) promoting top-level interdisciplinary research training to natural science, biomedical science and medical students. Through its interdisciplinary teamwork and strong focus on translational research, the “Academy for Translational Liver Immunology” will foster the early career of PhD and MD students.
MD and PhD students will form tandem teams for two years to promote interaction between medical and clinician scientists to strengthen regular interaction right from the begining. Tandem teams will be tutored by a mentoring team consisting of the project PI together with an additional PI and a bioinformatician of the CRC consortium.
Note: MD students will be tutored for two years and the programme for PhD students will be designed for four years, including including two years in a tandem team with an MD student.
