NASUR: Development of a Standardised Evaluation Protocol (STEP) for the National Surveys (NASUR)

Objectives

The development of a Standardised Evaluation Protocol STEP for NASUR as the basis for the National Surveys NASURs (WPs 2 to 8).

Methodolody and study materials

Italy will develop the initial proposal for the STEP for NASUR. The STEP will be discussed, modified and agreed on at the first meeting of the partners. It will contain:

The methodology on how to develop, translate, and adapt the joint family care assessment (WP 2) and how to use it (WP 4)
Strategies on how to build up the samples, how to get access to and how to conduct and co-ordinate interviews
Guidelines on coding the data and feeding the data sets
The strategy of how to analyse the data at the national level
The strategy of how to analyse the data at the European level
The strategy of how to combine the NASUR results with the results from the pan-European Background Reports

The core group members will use STEP for NASUR in a pilot phase. On the basis of these experiences STEP will be modified before being used by interviewers in different sites of the core group countries.
