Important information
Separate session on "patient-centered research":
This year, as usual, we are planning an extensive one-and-a-half day lecture program on topics from experimental, clinical and translational cancer research.
In addition, there will be a parallel session on "patient-centered research", to which we would like to invite the epidemiologists, psycho-oncologists and health care researchers of our cancer center. This part of the event will take place from Friday morning to Friday afternoon and will require participants to travel to and from the meeting themselves. (For all participants attending on Friday and Saturday, however, we will offer bus transfers as usual.)
Eligibility to attend:
All senior and junior researchers from UCCH/UKE who are involved in cancer-relevant research are welcome to attend the UCCH Research Retreat.
Cost of attendance:
For all admitted researchers the UCCH covers all costs for accommodation, meals and bus transfers by a chartered bus from UKE to Reinstorf and return (bus transfers can only be offered to those attending on Friday and Saturday).
Important for bus users:
If you wish to the take the chartered bus (for participants of the whole event on Friday and Saturday), please register for this service very soon, as we can only provide seats for a limited number of passengers. Please also ensure to be on time on the day of departure. We meet at 7:30 a.m. at UKE Hauptzufahrt, Martinistr. 52. Departure is at 7:45 a.m.! For the return trip to UKE, departure time is currently anticipated at around 3:00 p.m.
Fee for no-shows:
Please note that the UCCH has to charge a 89 Euro personal contribution (Selbstbeteiligung) in case of non-usage of your hotel room. We we will bindingly book a hotel room for you after your registration for the event (in case of attendance on Friday and Saturday) and our confirmation of your attendance unless we receive your written cancellation (by e-mail) 2 weeks prior to the event at the latest (cases of sudden illness are exempt of course).
When do I get definitive notice about whether I can attend?
As the total number of participants is limited, we cannot guarantee that all researchers who register will definitively be admitted to attend. You will receive definitive notice via e-mail by June 12, 2023 at the latest.
Do I have to give a talk or present a poster?
Attendees are encouraged to present their research project in an oral presentation or in a poster session, but there is no obligation. If you wish to give a talk or present a poster, please submit your abstract as described below. The decision whether your project will be presented in a regular session or in a poster session will be made by the UCCH Core Team.
