Cancer remains one of the most pressing health challenges of our time, despite all the advancements in knowledge and treatment options. At UCC Hamburg, we bring together scientists and physicians from more than 40 clinics and institutes at the UKE and across the northern region, all of whom are dedicated to tackling this challenge.

Modern science is conducted in an interdisciplinary manner across all disciplines and levels of education. At UCC Hamburg, we therefore expressly emphasize that all professional groups from all disciplines as well as physicians from private practices are welcome to attend our specialist events. The institutes and clinics of the UCC Hamburg offer a wide variety of training and continuing education opportunities for young scientists, including students and doctoral candidates in medicine and life sciences, postdoctoral researchers, young physicians, and other life science and technical professions.
The annual magazine wissen + forschen (knowledge + research) publishes the latest research findings of physicians and scientists working at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). The wide variety of research approaches and their results demonstrate the broad spectrum of research areas at the UKE.
The Mildred Scheel Cancer Career Center Hamburg (MSNZ) supports oncology researchers in the early and middle stages of their careers with its HaTriCS4 program (Hamburg Translational Research in Cancer: Stimulating, Shaping, and Sustaining Scientific Careers), strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and transparent career paths in translational cancer research.
Through targeted support for clinicians and medical scientists, joint partner laboratories, and structured career paths, the MSNZ contributes to the sustainable development of excellent cancer research in Hamburg and the northern German research region. The MNSZ is funded by German Cancer Aid.

To provide the best possible care for patients and their families, we offer a comprehensive range of treatments and various consultation hours in collaboration with our partners within and outside the UKE. Our oncology navigators provide support in navigating the accompanying treatment options.
We work together to provide the best possible care for our oncology patients—from case discussions in tumor boards to patient referrals, studies, and joint collection of research data.
In addition to our joint care responsibilities, we regularly offer training and continuing education opportunities for medical colleagues and caregivers.
The Hubertus Wald Tumor Center – University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCC Hamburg) brings together all clinics and institutes involved in oncological diagnostics, therapy, and research within the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and collaborates with numerous partners in healthcare, self-help, and science in Hamburg.
As an Oncology Center of Excellence funded by the German Cancer Aid (DKH), we treat patients at the highest level and are committed to innovative care concepts.
