Every cancer diagnosis is unique, just like every patient. But despite all the differences, we are united by stories of hope and strength on the path to treatment. They show that no one has to walk this path alone.
In UKE Life - the magazine from the UKE - we tell the stories of patients together with their caregivers and families at our tumor center.
Patients are at the heart of everything we do at the tumor center. In addition to the Patient Advisory Board, which provides strategic advice to UCC Hamburg on our further development, we are committed to training interested patients and their relatives to become patient ambassadors. ONCOlleg enables them to participate in research projects, committee work, and applications from the patient's perspective.
A vaccine against malignant melanoma - this dream seems within reach. Researchers at the UKE are participating in international studies that could lead to a breakthrough in the treatment of this insidious disease. A personalized mRNA vaccine against malignant melanoma targets aggressive, tiny micrometastases that are hidden somewhere in the body.
The annual magazine wissen + forschen (Knowledge + Research) publishes the latest research findings of physicians and scientists working at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE).
