Transgenic Core Facility

The mouse is the most important model organism to analyse the development and progression of human diseases and also investigate the influence of disease-triggering genetic factors. In addition, mouse models offer the opportunity to investigate innovative therapeutic approaches in the entire organism.

The Transgenic Core Facility (TCF) has the task of developing tailor-made new mouse models for the scientists at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and their collaborators. We use innovative and state-of-the-art genome engineering technologies, such as the powerful enzymatic technique known as CRISPR-Cas9.

The TCF is located at the Centre for Molecular Neurobiology Hamburg (ZMNH).
