International patients who are admitted to the UHC can generally be accompanied to their ward by a relative. The accompanying person receives a bed and full board. The Ward for International Patients offers individual rooms with an en-suite bathroom. The wards also provide high-speed internet and more than 300 television channels from all over the world. To book a hotel, please contact the International Office. The Internationa Office has special agreements with most of Hamburg's top hotels, meaning patients can benefit from special deals and discounts. Most hotels offer a shuttle service to the UKE. Arrangements for furnished, fully-equipped apartments for longterm patient stays can be arranged by contacting the International Office.
The Ronald McDonald House, especially designed for children who are receiving treatment at the UKE and their families, is an exceptional place for families to stay, offering apartments that can accommodate four to six people.
Patient rooms
At the UKE, our patients stay in comfortable one or two bed hospital rooms, many rooms fitted with an en-suite bathroom and shower. Many rooms have a large balcony offering an excellent view of the Hamburg skyline. Patients also have access to the Internet, telephone and television from the comfort of their bed.
