Process for international patients
1. Patient request / Contact with International Office
2. Personal counseling interview and explanation of procedure (over the phone or in person)
3. Patient provides existing medical report to International Office
4. International Office transfers patient's medical records to professor
5. Professor proposes treatment plan for patient
6. Preparation of cost estimation based on treatment plan and DRG by IO
7. Patient receives cost estimate
8. If the patient is interested in medical treatment:
- Clarification of cost coverage
- Appointment scheduling with the International Office
- Confirmation letter to German embassy
9. Before the treatment:
- Surveillance of the financial situation
- Accommodation arrangements for the patient’s family members
- Transportation to airport, hotel
- Translator service
10. During the stay:
- Willingness to discuss any issues
- Surveillance of treatment costs – additional claiming if necessary
- Extension of visa on demand
11. Preparation of discharge
- translation of medical reports
- Patient receives CD with radiographies
- Assistance with prescriptions and refills
- Shuttle service to airport if requested
12. After discharge:
- Surveillance of incoming invoices
- Preparation of final invoice
- Sending final invoice to patient
