Mousepathology Facility

Overview

Since the 1st of September 2010 the Mouse Pathology Core Facility provides its services to all researchers of the university hospital of Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and other interested people. It offers high quality histological analysis of cell and tissue samples derived from mouse. Due to the fact that the facility is integrated in the diagnostic institute of the UKE, it can rely on long standing experience in preparing and analyzing histological supplements.
The mission of the Core Facility is to discuss the procedures of analyzing a histological tissue by direct interaction with the researchers and to process the individual sample. The analytic work is done with the help of the specialized staff of the institute of neuropathology. The facility also provides consultations for researchers to understand their results, helps to create figures for publications and in close teamwork with the researcher quantifies cell populations within the tissue.

Services

If you work with a defined mouse model and you need a histological analysis of your tissue of choice, don't hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help you with any kind of histological or immunhistochemical staining and therefore answer questions about the morphology per ser and the expression pattern or the localisation of your protein of choice within a tissue compartment. Furthermore, histological analyses are helpful in finding morphological differences between transgenic or knockout mice and their wild-type littermates. If you need an analysis in the range of nanometres, we are able to do single cell analysis with the help of an electron microscope.

Equipment

Requirements

The core facility is open for all interested researchers following the facility rules, which are listed on the right hand side of this page. For all services the facility demands fees which cover the costs of the materials only.
