Education and training

The Workgroup Psychoses employs the two assistant lecturers for A-teaching (human medicine) of the department of psychiatry and psychotherapy: PD Dr. Steffen Moritz and PD Dr. Martin Lambert. In addition, PD Dr. Thomas Bock and Prof. Dr. Burkhard Andresen are authorised to lecture at the faculties of medicine and psychology.

The workgroup is involved in the training and further education of physicians, psychologists, medical and psychological psychotherapists, nursing staff; the SPA is additionally involved in the training of art therapists and social education workers.

The project "Irre menschlich Hamburg e.V." pursues informational and educational work in schools and enterprises (s. there), but also further education for different mediators, a.o. for teachers (Institute for Lehrerfortbildung), police (Landespolizeischule) and journalists.

The workgroup is renowned for its trialogic offers of further education, i.e. the possibility of reciprocal learning among people with psychosis experience, relatives and therapists in the so called "psychosis seminars", which, spreading from Hamburg,  established themselves in the German speaking areas, and the lecture course "Anthropological psychiatry", which, a.o., uses philosophical aspects of mental illness as a bridge between somatic and social psychiatry.
