Integrated Care
What is Integrated Care?
In cooperation with various health insurances including the DAK, HEK and IKK, the Workgroup Psychosis at the UKE offers integrated treatment for patients with psychosis and their relatives for a duration of 2 years. "Integrated" means that, on the structural level, all treatment units of the Workgroup Psychosis and various practicing psychiatrists cooperate even more closely, and that, on the level of contents, all treatment options can be used individually by the participating patients.
Your advantages at a glance
It is possible to successfully help people with a beginning, first or recurrent psychosis and their families or people with bipolar disorder, if treatment sets in as early as possible, is adjusted to individual needs and has a high degree of quality. It results in better and more stable treatment success and, therefore, better quality of life for the patients and their families.
- Hospital doctors, practicing psychiatrists and neurologists, as well as general practitioners, therapists and other care services cooperate more closely and intensively in terms of diagnostics, treatment and care.
- Patients with psychosis receive specific help more quickly; participants of this programme are offered a first interview within one week.
- The illness can be identified and treated earlier - preventing aggravation and avoiding inadequate treatment.
- Each patient is accompanied by a permanent team of one therapist and one doctor as his personal contacts for the entire duration of the treatment.
- The clinic provides ambulatory socialpsychiatric and psychotherapeutic assistance in coordination with other support services.
- For intensive treatment and crisis intervention at home, a specialised team of doctors and therapists is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
- Hospitalisations can thus be reduced or even avoided in many cases.
