Modern examination and therapy options make the operative treatment of all types of heart and vascular conditions possible. The Clinic and Policlinic for Heart and Vascular Surgery specializes in the modern treatment of vascular conditions using minimally invasive techniques (keyhole surgery). The clinic also specializes in the treatment of heart valve conditions, where possible, through repair of the defective valve.
It also offers the most up-to-date operative techniques, such as robot-guided operations or the socalled hybrid approach. It is one of the few clinics in Germany with the ability to perform aorta replacement through a heart catheter. An increasing number of patients at our clinic receive intra-operative ablation therapy to treat atrial arrhythmia. The clinic is staffed with experts in the field of cardiac insufficiency treatment who employ the implantation of high-tech defibrillators and artificial hearts.
