The treatment of vascular conditions is highly complex and requires an interdisciplinary approach. The life expectancy of patients who suffer from vascular conditions is affected directly by the cardiovascular comorbidity. In close cooperation with our colleagues from Cardiology and Heart Surgery, we can provide all patients with a detailed, systematic screening of their specific cardiovascular risk profile. Only appropriate diagnosis and treatment of each patient's risk potential can extend that patient's life expectancy.
The treatment of thoracic aorta aneurysms and dissections (type-B dissections) and thoracic-abdominal aorta replacement has developed into an interdisciplinary field. The Clinic for Vascular Medicine works with the UHZ's clinics for General and Interventional Cardiology and Heart and Vascular Surgery in order to provide patients with the most comprehensive and modern treatment.
The clinic also offers specialized open and endovascular treatment for supra and infrarenal abdominal aorta aneurysms
