MR Physics
The MR Physics group
is a part of "
NeuroImage
Nord (NIN)", a centre for imaging in the neurosciences supported by
Bundesministerium
für
Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) and
Deutschen
Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), comprising researchers from the
university hospitals
Hamburg-Eppendorf and
Schleswig-Holstein.
The group deals with
the physical principles and applications of biomedical magnetic
resonance tomography (MRT) and spectroscopy (MRS).
We focus mainly on the development of new techniques for imaging and
spectroscopy, diffusion weighted imaging of the human central nervous
system, and functional imaging of the human brain.
In addition, we provide the remaining research groups of NIN with
technical support and quality assurance related to the MR system and
methodical issues. However, as we are concerned with research only, we
are not involved in clinical diagnostics
