Responsibilities

The department of Medical Sociology and Health Economics is part of the centre of Psychosocial Medicine (ZPM). Main responsibilities are teaching and research. Research activities are organised in five working groups (see below).

Teaching activities during the medical training/ education include

• Medical Sociology and integrated seminars (presentations, lectures) during term 1 (before the preliminary medical examination)
• socio-medical and integrated lectures in term 2

In addition, colleagues of the department are engaged in further educational facilities in Hamburg (University of Hamburg, Faculty 13; Trade School, Health Studies; Social- and Health-Management of the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics). We regularly take on tasks regarding the area of Public Health in post-graduate trainings outside of Hamburg (Hannover, Graz, Lüneburg, Magdeburg).
