PD Dr. rer. nat. Friedrich Buck

Friedrich Buck, born in 1951, studied Chemistry and Philosophy at the Westfälische-Wilhelms-University  Münster where he received his PhD in Biochemistry in 1981.
1980-1983 he spent three post-doc years at the Biology department of the University of Cincinnati and at the  department of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Genetics of the University of Colorado in Denver.
1983-1986 he was a research associate at the Institute of Biophysical Chemistry, University of Frankfurt
Since 1986 he is the head of the protein analytics service lab at the Institute of Cell Biochemistry and Clinical Neurobiology, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and since 2006 at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.
In 2008 he received the habilitation and venia legendi in biochemistry.

Main research interests:
Protein quantification and elucidation of posttranslational modifications by mass spectrometric methods
