The Institute of Clinical Chemistry can run routine tests on 180 different parameters of the blood, urine and fluids. Every day around 3,500 sample tubes arrive from the University Medical Center's departments and institutes. On average 18,000 measurements are made every day. In recent years this has amounted to 6.5 million measurements per annum.
