Graduate school

Integrative graduate school

Within this cluster we will establish an international graduate school with the focus on learning, memory, plasticity and related disorders. The program will expose students to all relevant approaches from molecular techniques to behavioral assessments in humans. The graduate school will be implemented as an international and transdisciplinary training program. The school will offer training in an excellent research environment and award a PhD or MD/PhD to students who successfully complete an advanced three-year curriculum. Although offering a comprehensive program covering all areas of neuroscience, the school will have a clear focus in the areas of learning, memory and plasticity in both its study and research program. The school will admit both candidates with an MSc/MA as well as students from the Medical School as part of an MD/PhD program that will be implemented at the UKE in cooperation with the other faculties at Hamburg University.

The graduate school, the computational neuroscience group and the integrative neuroscience junior research group will be located in close vicinity to existing neuroscience groups, especially close to the ZMNH and the Department of Systems Neuroscience in building W34.
